R…Rajkumar is an action film directed by Prabhu Dheva. The film stars Sonakshi Sinha, Shahid Kapoor and Sonu Sood in the lead roles.
Along with them Poonam Jhawar, Ashish Vidyarthi, Mukul Dev, Asrani, Srihari, Charmy Kaur, Ragini Dwivedi and Scarlett Wilson star in the film.
The film revolves around drug mafias in town, who want to rule the town by assassinating one another. Apparently, Shahid Kapoor will be assigned for this task. But in between this dirty job taken up by Shahid, he falls for Sonakshi Sinha. The story takes a sudden turn when he comes across the fact that Sonakshi is brought up by the person who Shahid has been asked to assassinate. And then the film takes a roller-coaster ride till the climax.
Even though Prabhu Dheva has collaborated with Sonakshi earlier as well, this is the first time he has directed Shahid in his career. With Sonakshi considered as Prabhu Dheva’s lucky charm, he is keen to work with Shahid for his next as well. The director-actor duo gelled well with each other on dancing. Both of them are known for their dancing skills and Prabhu Dheva before turning a director was a well known choreographer and is still considered to be one of the best dancers in India. And apparently still believes in choreographing the dance moves for his actors.
The songs from the film are mostly dancing numbers, which everyone will enjoy. And has already topped the music charts.
The song Gandi Baat will mark Charmy Kaur debut as an item girl in Bollywood. She was earlier seen in films such as Zila Ghaziabad and Bbuddah... Hoga Terra Baap. The song is sung by Mika Singh and Kalpana Patowary
Whereas songs such as Saree Ke Fall Sa and Mat Maari will see Shahid wooing Sonakshi. Both the songs are peppy dance numbers and are shot very vibrantly that makes them look enjoyable and exciting. Saree Ke Fall se is sung by Antara and Nakash Aziz.
Apart from these songs, Kaddu Katega will introduce Sonu Sood as an item boy in Bollywood. In this song Sonu will be seen surrounded by gorgeous ladies.
The entire album consisting of six tracks is composed by Pritam and lyrics penned by Anupam Amod, Mayur Puri.
The film was first titled Rambo Rajkumar. According to reports, the makers of the original Rambo series had copyrighted the word Rambo making it unavailable for usage by other filmmakers. As a result, the makers decided on a title change for the film and named it R…Rajkumar.
After the films title change, Shahid Kapoors character in the film, which was Rambo Rajkumar initially, was also changed.
The action flick budget is around Rs 4 crore and is set to release on December 6, 2013.
R...Rajkumars first look, starring fresh pair Sonakshi Sinha and Shahid Kapoor, has left a solid impression on the viewers. The action flicks trailer has already received over 2 million views and counting.
Lasting 3 minutes and 45 seconds, the trailer features Kapoor in action mode and Sonakshi Sinha as a traditional but feisty village girl. The trailer of the film created buzz on the social media front, trending worldwide at the number 2 position.
